Intact Financial Corporation Releases First Quarter Earnings Report
Intact Financial Corporation, the parent company of RSA, has released its earnings report for the first quarter of 2024. The group performed well, with strong contributions from all segments. The operating direct premiums written (DPW) increased to CA$5.11 billion, while the combined ratio (discounted) decreased to 86.8%. The underwriting income was CA$687 million, and the operating net investment income was CA$380 million. The net operating income attributable to common shareholders was CA$648 million, and the net income was CA$673 million. The combined ratio (undiscounted) was 91.2%, and the total capital margin at the end of the quarter was CA$2.7 billion. The board approved the quarterly dividend of CA$1.21 per share on the company's outstanding common shares.
Exchange Income Corporation Reports Record First Quarter Revenue and Earnings
Exchange Income Corporation (EIC) reported record first quarter revenue of $602 million, an increase of $75 million or 14% over the prior period. The company earned Adjusted EBITDA of $111 million, representing growth of $14 million over the prior period or 14% and setting another first quarter benchmark for the Corporation. Free Cash Flow first quarter record of $62 million compared to the prior period of $60 million. Net Earnings of $5 million compared to the prior period of $7 million and Net Earnings per share of $0.10 compared to the prior period of $0.16. Adjusted Net Earnings of $10 million compared to the prior period of $12 million and Adjusted Net Earnings per share of $0.20 compared to the prior year of $0.27. Increase in Free Cash flow less Maintenance Capital Expenditures of $4 million to $23 million, another first quarter record. Trailing Twelve Month Free Cash Flow less Maintenance Capital Expenditures Payout Ratio remained consistent with the comparative period at 58%. Completed an extension and upsize to the Corporationās credit facility, including the addition of a new Social Loan tranche, containing consistent pricing and terms with our prior credit facility. CEO Mike Pyle stated that the success of EIC over the past 20 years is due in large part to identifying the correct acquisition targets, empowering the management teams at each subsidiary, and providing Growth Capital Expenditures to fuel expansion.
